Jim Leslie
Jim Leslie was the Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of Flipgrid, a spinoff of the University of Minnesota focused on enabling video-driven social learning in classrooms around the world. Flipgrid was sold to Microsoft in 2018 and today has over 150 million monthly-active-users and is one of the world's top 5 education platforms.
Prior to Flipgrid, Leslie was the Founder and CEO of privately-held Midwave Corporation (acquired in 2011 by Datalink), and before that he was President of OPM Information Systems. Leslie was the recipient of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2005 and the Titans of Technology Award in 2015.
Leslie and his wife, Norma, founded the James D. Leslie Family Foundation in 1998. The Foundation underwrites scholarships at the University of Minnesota and at Dunwoody College of Technology, as well as providing intervention support for families at risk.
