Eric Chan is an accomplished inventor, designer, and the President of ECCO Design, a leading product design innovation firm. With decades of experience, Eric has worked with prestigious clients such as LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Magic Leap, and Herman Miller. His expertise spans various industries, including consumer products, deep tech, cleantech, IoT wearables, medical and professional devices, and mobility solutions.

As a dedicated member and sponsor of New York Angels (NYA), Eric is deeply passionate about mentoring, coaching, and advising tech startups and young companies. His commitment to fostering the next generation of innovators is evident in his active involvement with institutions like XRC, NYU and Columbia University, as well as his recognition as "Mentor of the Year" by NYU Stern in 2024.

Currently, Eric lends his expertise to Startup teams at the Fedtech NASA Startup Studio, BOOST DOE, and the Department of Energy, helping to commercialize cutting-edge deep tech and clean tech products such as Vertical Axis Wind Turbine.

Eric's designs have been widely successful in the commercial market and have received numerous awards in prestigious global competitions such as CES, RedDot, and Good Design. He judges the IDEA competition in the United States and the iF Design Awards in Germany. His work has been exhibited in renowned museums and institutions worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), the National Museum of Design, and M+. Eric further demonstrates his commitment to sustainability through his advisory role on the UN NGO Sustainability board.


Eric continues to inspire and guide the next generation of designers and entrepreneurs through his writing and speaking engagements. He is a speaker at international events and the author of the acclaimed book 1000 Product Designs, which has been translated into five languages.
